This would be the scene if Mufasa had given his kingly speech to Simba, but instead of the savannah they lived in Baarl-Hertog/Baarl-Nassau. Seriously, look at that Belgian-Dutch border, and convince me the cartographers didn’t just say “f*ck it”. Either that, or this is the worst case of Gerry-mandering I’ve ever seen. ;-p
Looking down into the Rhondda valley (and the road that leads to it from the Bowlch on the lower edge of the shot), we see the villages of Cwmparc and Treorchy, recently named the UK High Street of the Year by the Great British High Street Awards body. It gained this title as a result of maintaining a high number of independent shops and organising several community events, and will no doubt try to defend it fiercely even through the pandemic.
