No use denying it -- there's an RPG sourcebook in the works! At this point, the writing's all over but the editing, so now I've got to add in enough artwork to flavor the book, in addition to the cover art.
Also, it's in black and white, which is why all the art you'll see me posting for it in the coming weeks will be as well. It's faster to draw (in theory) anyway.
This piece is meant for the "Species" page, and shows off the six/seven species available to play in this edition of the game -- Human, Zillan, Anyr, Kendril, Talmi, Vidian, and Celeste Hybrids (represented by a rather fetching Vidian / Kendril blend) all in their school uniforms and looking so very Expanded Universe-y.
Yes, the Anyr is wearing a Lady Gaga-esque hairbow.
Yes, they're all wearing clips with QR Codes on them: http://www.squidoo.com/qr-code
If you're confused, the Zillan, Anyr, and Celeste are the girls in this picture; the rest are guys.

Not that I'd totally mind doing the usual "up against the wall"-type pieces either, but these books tend to print smallish, so the level of detail would just go to waste here... at least for now. Mebbe when I don't have a 30-page limit to keep in mind, I can do one of those.
Also, this is (initially) for a contest, so I'm looking to make artwork that imparts the general "feel" of the world, and not just Architect Porn. While I do want to make sure people remember that this IS Last Res0rt we're talking about... I also want to encourage folks to see the RPG as a way of playing more in the Extended Universe as opposed to playing as Jigsaw and company (not that there's anything wrong with that...)
And somewhere in there I want to make sure we don't lose sight of this being a cyberpunk world as well. How well I do that, I'm not clear, but I try to keep at least a little bit of punk in the details, even if it's not all corsets and goggles and electrical-tape boobies.

Now that I think about it, you are one of the few who would have a valid reason to do the against the wall: Prison lineup. But that's only if you are focusing on the game show, which it sound like you are not. I'd love to see more of your universe, and I'm looking forward to playing this. That doesn't mean that you have to rush through it though!
It's a bit half and half. Obviously any focus on the show == obvious money shot, and there ARE panels from the comic / show included in the book...
...but by the same token, I don't want to see "We have a new contestant! her name is Pinky SparkleGlitter, and her crime is looking so damn adorable that she killed an entire space colony with diabetes!"

Pen and paper for now. Trying to make it work with d6's because d6s will be easier to get manufactured come book-sellin' time (more folks make custom D6's vs. anything else)
A friend suggested going the online route because it'd be easier to control ala D&D Tiny Adventures... and it's still on the table, but getting the book done first can be done faster for now.
