He's an alto sax player, (reeds on the side table, alto sax sheet music) the plectrum belonged to his father but he can play guitar if needed. Admittedly this is the reduced image size, the original you can zoom in and still see the details on the music.

I noticed it a minute after checking out your work (≧(ｴ)≦ ) I coulda sworn they use alto clef for lead sheets. pretty rusty on which instruments use what clefs for brass and string. either way, love the accuracy of this picture lol. He's quite cute when he's sleeping like that U^ｪ^U
I actually bought and have started practising Alto Sax since October 14th, because of this character. (But also I want to reach out into a new passion.) Alto and Soprano play in Treble, and Tenor and Baritone in bass I think. I know Alto can also play in common time. I used to play brass in my early teens so it's been a long time since I've read music or done music theory.
hey! that's awesome! I'm getting back into playing guitar again. Writing and playing has been a better escape than some other things that can preoccupy my time. I admit that my music theory is not anywhere it was in college but I mainly use it for songs I'm writing. hope to hear more things from you U^ｪ^U
