The Otter Tenrec people (Potamogal Velox) people of Lemuria. These people are know for their connection with the water.
These people have a very distinct anatomy with extremely long tails that are very cumbersome on land but make these people well suited for life aquatic life. They have an oddly reptilian skeleton and swim with side to side motions of the tail like crocodiles, fish and lizards rather than the up and down motion used by other aquatic mammals such as whales, dolphins, and true otters.
For much of their history they lived in the shadow of the old false gods of Mu and developed a culture and way of life that disguised them as beasts rather than make them apparent as sentient beings. They concealed there tool use and technology and leaned strongly on their physiology. Until recently most wore no clothing and stored tools in cashes stored in riverbanks, beaches, and islands. They hunted for fish, crabs, prawns, and other aquatic life.
Even in modern times they live extremely minimalistic lifestyles and tend to stay in remote regions away from other peoples. Unlike most of the other peoples of Cyan Haven they have no fear of ruined cities of the now extinct false gods and have claimed their old blackstone ruined cities as their own. Many of these ruins are now covered with tents and wooden ship docks that the Otter Tenrec people have built over these foundations.
