And every good squadron needs a good AWACS, Colonel Eugene Sawyer, nicknamed 'Sauron' by squadrons under his coverage for seeing everything they are doing and being such a dad about it. He's in command of AWACS Skyranger of the 969th Expeditionary Airborne Air Control Squadron. He and his E-3 Sentry crew came to support Sabre squadron and others for years and know them quite well. The banter between the crews is always fun to listen to.
