KeldorFeign
Keldor wiped his brow. The entire day, he’d been trying to hand out free samples of a new product he was trying to market. Sure, there had been some willing testers and he’d already gotten some feedback. But a larger sample size, and potentially more customers when it finally hit shelves, was never a bad thing.
The green alien (By his own admission, though almost everyone was skeptical) huffed and slung a large cooler that almost looked like a purse over his shoulder. It was already late afternoon and most of the campus was empty. Students were either in class, waiting for late classes and labs, or had already left for the day. Still he had a good feeling as he entered one of the more popular buildings; there were always students in the massive library.
There were quite a few students in the main library. Keldor shook his head though; no eating or drinking allowed. Instead, he walked further inside to a well-lit atrium. Planters with trees and flowers dotted the ground. The black night sky loomed overhead despite it only being five in the evening. But more importantly, there were two furs sitting on the edge of a planter; a fox and snow leopard. The fox flipped through the pages of a book while the snow leopardess scribbled away on a tablet. Keldor smiled; he had a very good feeling about this.
“Hey, you two!” Keldor called out to the pair. The fox peered up for a second before burying his nose back into the book. However, the snow leopardess was far more accommodating. She looked up from the tablet and nodded towards the alien; a silent beckoning hint that Keldor took, walking up to the pair.
“Hi!” Kishara, the snow leopard, smiled warmly. The fox just grunted quietly, still buried in the book.
“Hey there. Don’t mean to bug you out of nowhere, but I was just wondering if you’d be interested in trying out a new product.” Keldor swung the cooler to his side and popped it open, pulling out two small, purple aluminum cans. Kishara took both, giving one to Fresh who had finally moved his attention from the book.
“What kind of product? A new soda?” She rolled it over in her hand; the artist in her examining every detail of the labeling.
“Oh no, it’s so much more than just a soda.” The alien explained. “It’s a brand new product called Psychic Powers in a Can!”
“Little on the nose there.” Fresh scoffed behind his book.
“Name is still pending. Marketing is hard.” Keldor sighed, but then went back to explaining. “But these really work! All you need to do is drink it and you’ll psychic powers. Temporary, though.”
“What exactly do you mean?” Both Fresh and Kishara asked, almost in unison.
“Things like telekinesis and telepathy, of course. Though we did have to include stuff to damper some things, like pyro and cryokinesis. My office still smells of smoke.” He laughed, though it was only partially a joke. “But other than that, your mind’s the limit! If you think it, it can happen!”
“And you actually think it’ll work?” Fresh spoke up, a heavy tone of disbelief in his voice.
“Oh, it absolutely DOES work! That I’m certain of.” Keldor insisted. “I’m just trying to gather some metrics on other aspects of it. Y’know, taste and such.”
“Oh, what’s the harm? C’mon, you too, Fresh.” Kishara giggled and pulled the can’s tab open. Fresh followed suit. “Cheers!” The two raised their cans and started drinking. The cans were quite small, so they finished chugging quickly.
“Hmm, tastes like… I can’t really describe it.” Kishara winced a bit.
“I can. It tastes like carbonated ‘grape’ medicine…” Fresh almost looked like he was gagging as he placed the emptied can down.
“We’ll have to work on the flavor.” Keldor made a mental note. “But how do you feel? Any different.” Both furs shook their heads. “That’s fine. These powers are supposed to feel natural. You want to try them out?”
“How?” Fresh scoffed, still bemoaning the aftertaste.
“As I said, if you think it, it can happen. Here, just focus on that book. Picture it levitating, moving.” Fresh sighed at Keldor’s instructions. He stared at the book and concentrating, wondering if it would actually work. The fox pictured it moving, floating, slowly coming towards him. And much to his surprise, the book slowly raised off the ground and levitated towards him.
Fresh was absolutely shocked. “Holy…” He grabbed the book out of the air, utterly astounded that the product worked.
“Told you it works. Now the telepathy test. You won’t be able to read minds, but you can still talk to someone else who has these powers.” Keldor explained, guiding the couple through their new gifts. “You just need to think of what you want to say and then think about projecting it to them. It sounds a lot more complicated than it is.”
So kind of like a mental text message?
Keldor nodded as the fox’s voice projected in his head. “Pretty much. But if you ‘talk’ to someone who isn’t a Psychic, like me, they won’t be able to respond mentally.” Fresh and Kishara nodded at the alien’s explanation; it really was a miracle product. The fox and snow leopard stared at each other in silence, but they were clearly having a conversation. Keldor just smiled; aside from the flavor, this product was a complete success.
I know you can’t respond, but I’ve got a bit of an idea. Just nod yes or shake no if you can. Keldor looked up as he heard Kishara’s voice in his head. He nodded and smiled as he listened. It was a bit strange, but there was no reason it wouldn’t work. Both Keldor and Kishara looked at Fresh, who was now levitating himself a foot above the seat. Kishara smiled subtly, a new thought entering her head.
Despite concentrating heavily on levitating, Fresh started to feel strange. He couldn’t quite place it, but it felt like there was some kind of pressure inside his body. But then he noticed it; his green shirt felt tiger, right in his middle. And he’d both seen and experienced something very similar before. “Kishara, what are you doing now?” He shot her a stern look. The snow leopardess only responded with a sly smile; instead just thinking of how the fox would look as a balloon.
Fresh’s belly continued to swell beneath his shirt, stretching the fabric tightly. The newly formed orb jutted out of his midsection, making itself plainly obvious. To an outside viewer, it might have looked like there was just a bowling ball stuffed inside. But Fresh could feel it swelling and growing even further beyond. And knowing Kishara, it wasn’t likely to stop any time soon. The one big oddity was that it didn’t feel heavy; actually quite light. Almost like his stomach was a balloon being filled with air.
Keldor watched on in surprise. “Honestly, I’m surprised that no one’s ever tried this before in testing.” He mentioned to the pair, this was definitely something worth marketing. The alien continued to stare at the fox’s inflating belly, wondering just what else the snow leopard had in store.
Fresh’s belly had already swollen to the size of a basketball, but it was no longer the only part of his body that was swelling. His chest started to round outwards, as did his back. They both quickly caught up with his inflating belly, giving the fox a much more round, almost spherical shape. Even his arms and legs grew much puffier, to the point where they were forced out to his sides and rendered nearly immobile. Despite his new shape and increased mass, the fox’s clothes stretched and molded around it. Sure, they could have torn off, but Kishara didn’t want to embarrass him that much.
Bigger and rounder Fresh swelled, resembling more of a balloon than anything else. His arms and legs were swallowed up by his round, blimpy body. And he was still growing. Yet there was something else concerning the fox balloon. Rather, a lack of something. He couldn’t feel the ground beneath him. As his body inflated to nearly four feet round, Fresh started to rise off the ground. He slowly floated upwards; only a glass ceiling stopped him from rising high into the night sky. The fox bounded off the ceiling with a hollow thump and managed to spin around, letting him look back towards the ground and the smiling faces of Kishara and Keldor. He wanted to say something, but found that impossible. Even his cheeks had blown up, completely covering his mouth.
“This is a good look for you, Fresh!” Kishara called up to her blimped boyfriend.
“I really didn’t think about using these powers for anything like this.” Keldor stared wide-eyed at the floating fox.
“Hey, as you said, if you think it, it can happen!” Kishara giggled. “And I think he makes for a great balloon, don’t you?”
“Indeed he does. Question though: How did you get his clothes to stretch that much?” Keldor tapped his chin in contemplation.
“It seems to be part of the drink. I thought of them stretching to fit him, and so they did!” She giggled loudly again. The two of them kept talking as Fresh bobbed against the ceiling. He glared down, mostly at Kishara, now picturing her in the exact same situation.
“I’d recommend working on the label. I can give you my card if you want a consult--” Kishara’s artistic advice was interrupted abruptly. A heavy bout of pressure quickly built up inside of her belly. Just like with Fresh, her midsection started to billow outwards. But unlike Fresh, her was happening much faster. Her belly ballooned beneath her shirt, yet still remained covered. It seemed Fresh didn’t want her naked either.
There was a different pressure building inside her chest. Her breasts, a respectable C cup, started to fill out just as her belly was. She stifled a moan, not wanting to do that in public, but it felt just as good as every other time she’d inflated herself before. Kishara’s belly quickly ballooned to the size of a beach ball while her breasts hovered around basketball-sized; Fresh definitely wanted her to be bigger than he.
And just like her partner before her, her back and chest puffed outwards, also giving her a round shape. Arms, legs, and even tail stiffened as they filled with air. She gladly accepted the fact that she was going to be a balloon for a while; why not enjoy it? It still felt great, being such a huge, round blimp. She wanted to laugh as her bloated body rose to the ceiling, but her mouth was also covered by her inflated cheeks.
Keldor looked up at the pair of ballooned furs. Kishara was a fair bit larger, but they were still massive. “Are you two all right up there?” He called out. A few others in the building looked up at the inflated couple, some took pictures. But no one paid it that much mind. Most just went about their own business.
That soda is amazing! Kishara telepathically praised Keldor. And as I was saying, before I was so rudely inflated… She glanced over at her ballooned boyfriend.
You started it. Fresh rolled his eyes at her.
Anyway, I wouldn’t mind helping with the label design. Keldor nodded enthusiastically as he jotted down her email.
How long is this going to last? Fresh asked telepathically. His ‘voice’ sounded a lot more gruff, just like his real voice.
“Well…” Keldor paused as he considered. “In theory, you could end it right now in the same way. Just think about being your normal size again.”
Aww, don’t do that! I know you like this! Kishara ‘spoke.’ Fresh blushed at her comment, though no one could actually see due to his head being nearly engulfed by his blimpy orb of a body. She wasn’t wrong.
“In that case, you two should go back to normal when the effects of Psychic Powers in a Can wear off. And I completely agree that we need to come up with a catchier name.” Keldor laughed. “It should be in about an hour.”
Whatever you end up calling it, we need to buy a case. It’s too much fun!
Please work on the taste…
Keldor nodded and gave the blimpy furs a thumbs up. “Another successful test.” Keldor muttered, grinning. He grabbed the cooler, slung it over his shoulder, and started walking away, leaving the pair of balloons bobbing against the ceiling.
