How about the progression of railroad crossings over the last fifty year cause I can guarantee you the crossing lights did not come with the wig-wag when it was first erected at the crossing.
There are no wig-wags I know of still in existence here in Texas or actually that I know of at least.

It's too bad these crossings did not survive here especially on the Rusk Scenic Railroad up in Palestine Texas which would be a perfect place for these type of signals.
You know almost every Griswold type crossing I have seen is either in the upper midwest or in surprise places like this.
I'll have to do some investigations on wig wags down here because I do know we have tourist lines and it would be a big shame if wig wags were indeed gone totally from here
