For the wonderful
Uzukitty18 whom I ventured to make this Harliquine Romance novel cover. Still experimenting with shadows to make things look real and I'm getting there. I really enjoyed making this piece as a fur trade. Hope to do more in the future. I'm deleting the other one which didn't have my signiture on it. So refavorite if you got it once before. Mew

I'm not sure what you mean by more colors, the fur on the tiger has 3 colors, the main overal then one for highlights and another for shadow, they are all different shades of orange. I did the same for the female cheetahk's fur and her hair. My light source was from directly above. My next piece im going to try multipule light sources (at least two) bng suggested that I try that to help make them more 3d.
What they meant by "more colors" is try to deviate away from shades of one color. A shadow looks more real when it incorporates colors of the environment, or a color to set mood. You can shade anything with any color - the tiger, for instance, you could have used lavender or brown, or whatever else you so fancied. Don't think in terms of "well, this is orange, so I should shade it with a darker orange"
Think as if you are to paint an egg without using the color white.
