The 1917 Silver Half-Dollar that bafflingly turned up in one of the boxes I'm unpacking. I'm damned if I can figure out where it came from - Purrdence has never seen it before. What it was doing in a box here in Perth is beyond me.

Ran across this posting. That is neat. As far as where it came from, I'm going to have to say Philadelphia. :=8Þ I'd be curious what in the world got it to Perth... of course, by the shape of it, it's been around the block a time or 2 or 172000. Or maybe one of the astronauts had it in their pocket when they went to the moon.
Getting like Canada, eh? I was up there in Sep and found out their 50s and 100s are plastic... got a couple of 50s when I traded US$ in for their money and was like.. this isn't folding right nor does it feel right.. then discover it's PLASTIC!! That was weird. Sadly, I was unable to keep one. US money is pretty boring.... although not sure I like the plastic thing, it doesn't fold in half well to put in your wallet.
