One of those obscure, low-budget films that left a huge impression on those who had the chance to see it -- George Romero, for instance. I have heard people say that CARNIVAL OF SOULS inspired NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, and the two films often convey a undeniably similar mood and style. Although Romero's film is much more violent and disturbing, Harvey's is quietly creepy and bleak in its own effective way. I saw it once, more than ten years ago, and certain images and moments are still fresh in my mind....
