Wow. When I had rats and mice if the mouse got too close to the rats cage they would attack the side of the cage trying to get at the tiny mouse.
In the wild rats usually kill mice, but in captivity there are always exceptions just like cats who dont have the want to kill a rat.

Okay... I will tell you this just once as a warning...
A few years ago I had a friend who put a rat and a mouse together. I told her not to do it, I told her the rat will kill the mouse. She didn't believe me. She told me they got along great. Then about six months later, she starts messaging me blaming me for the RAT killing the MOUSE... Rats and mice CANNOT be kept together. I've had both rats and mice ALL MY LIFE and they CANNOT be kept together.
That is the warning I give. They are both smart and cute animals, and it might not be today or tomorrow, but that rat will attack that mouse. I told her the same thing, so I beg you to do the right thing and separate them.

I've tried to put my rat with another rat, and mine always attackes the other, do you think it's because the other one is always younger...
Before I knew she would attack I had a small rat with her, and when I was sleeping I kept on waking up to them squeeking, and jumping around, ugh it was stressful.
And I thought I was doing her a favor, bringing in a friend for her... psh...

Some rats actually take months to get use to new comers. You always need two cages before introducing more rats. She sounds like she is uber dominant and actually needs a larger rat than her to put her in her place. Probably a much older rat.
I gave you the warning. I've NEVER seen a mouse not be killed by a rat when they are in the same cage. It took months before the mouse was killed and I was contacted, but it will still happen. Honestly, the risk is too great to even try it. It's like putting a kitten with a bear and thinking they will always get along.
