Close call

There were a couple knocks on the front door as the Fennec looked up from the couch. “I’ll get it!” Turning around he saw his son quickly run down the stairs and open the door inviting the guest inside. His son, Finny, stood no more than 4’10” high and had a slim build. The small boy was born with rainbow colored eyes along with slightly larger ears. Even for a Fennec his ears seemed to match the size of someone a couple inches larger than him. He wore a small hoodie along with skinny jeans. “Hey Cobalt!” Finny said to the guest as he invited him inside. A moderate sized Australian Shepard stepped into the house and hugged the Fennec fox. “Hey Finny! Oh! And hello Mr. Fenster!” With a smile the large Fennec father replied “Hello Cobalt, make it over okay?”. “Yes sir, my mom brought me over.”. “You’ll have to tell her I said Hi when you go back.” He replied with a smile as he layer across the couch. Derrick Fenster was the fathers name. Rather large for a Fennec fox, standing at just under 6’. He must have lucked out with his genes, his great grandfather was a wolf, which would explain his height and larger build. Derrick has played football throughout high school and college, he was the star running back on the team, naturally he would need to be pretty fit to do his job and he certainly kept it. Being a personal trainer also helped in keeping his muscular physique. He wore a black tank top and gray shorts, showing off his impressive form.

Some more small talk later Derrick noticed the gaming console in the Shepard’s paws and could tell from the exited expression on the two younglings faces they wanted to go back to Finny’s room. With a chuckle Mr. Fenster said “Well I won’t keep you two any longer go have fun now.” Finny and Cobalt quickly ran up the stairs and into the fennecs room, closing the door behind them. “What was all that noise?” Stepping from the kitchen was a red fox. She had brown hair and burning red fur, similar to that of a sunset. She stood taller then he son but definitely not as tall as her husband. “Oh nothing Marry, Finny invites a friend over.” “Well that explains the excitement then.” She said as she sat on the couch next to her husband. “Will you be watching the game tonight with me hun? It will be starting soon.”. “ I’ll be in and out, somebody forgot to do laundry today.”. Derrick stared blankly for a second before slapping his palm against his face. “Haha it’s alright dear, you watch your game I’ll take care of it.” Mary giggled out as she kissed the males cheek. “Thanks honey, I don’t know what I’d do without you.”. Smiling, Derrick turned on the TV to the college football game. Ever since he played he’s been following his team, the Stompers.

Derrick watched the game cheering on his team and getting into the game. Mary giggled at her husbands reactions to the game. “I’m going to bring Finny his clothes then I’ll be right with you dear.”. “Alright love, hurry up!”. Mary chuckled and walked up the stairs towards Finnys room. Humming a tune to herself she herbs noise. Stopping and taking a second to listen, the noise sounded like… moaning. “Ah… oh… oh… harder..” Mary gasped and covered her mouth. She blushed softly and giggled, leaving the laundry outside of the door before heading back downstairs. “Finny doing alright? I heard something.” Derrick asked at the sight of his wife. “What? Yes? How did you even hear upstairs?” Derrick bounced his eyebrows and shook his ears. “Oh.. right.. hehe yes everything’s fine.” Mary replied while joining the Fennec on the couch.

Around the time the game ended the two younglings walked down the stairs. Finny lead Cobalt out the door to his awaiting mother. “Thanks for coming! It was a lot of fun!” Both males looked at each other and blushed a little before laughing and saying goodbye. “You two have fun?” Asked his father. Through a light blush Finny replied with a “mhm”. “Now what was all the racket I was hearing upstairs?” Finnys eyes widened and he blushed harder. “Oh… uh.. well… we..”. “Oh you know, kids and their video games honey. ” Finny turned around to see his mother standing there smiling. “Haha, yeah that’s true. Love ya bud.” Derrick said while squeezing his son in tight. Finny looked over his shoulder at his mother. She had her finger to her lips mouthing “shhh”. Finny blushed and hugged his dad back, embarrassed at the fact that he had been caught.

Later in the day Derrick had gone to take a shower, Finny peaked around the corner to the kitchen. “Umm.. Mom..?”. “Yes dear?”. “I uh…”. “It’s alright Finny.” The fox said with a giggle stopping her task to comfort her son. “It doesn’t bother me if you like guys or girls, but maybe… this stays between just us two for now, okay?”. The Fennec blushed and nodded. “I love you mom…”. “I love you too sweetheart.” She deplored holding her sons cheeks and planting one kiss on each of his large ears before kissing his forehead. The small boy smiled softly and lightly wagged his tail.
