As ArmadilloZero said, the lines and perspective of the drawing feels odd. The way the red beams in the upper right seem like they should be directly overhead, the hallway running off to the right, and how the main character seems to be upright despite how the background suggests they lean against a slanted wall – they all add to the general unease. The first lighted pillar on the left (the light is about at knee level) isn’t quite parallel with the other lighted pillars farther on the right, but it doesn’t make sense when compared to the unlit pillars to the left, either. The beams to the left and the pipes just overhead of the character don’t quite follow the right hallway’s vanishing point, either. The angle the viewer sees everything doesn’t help matters.
I’m not an artist, so I could be wrong about some or all of this. It could even be an intentional effect, giving the piece a surreal mood. As a CAD designer, though, the lack of consistent perspective bothers me. I saw Latex write critics welcome, so hopefully my two cents is worth something. Of course, there’s also a lot of good with the lighting, color pallet, and other design choices and execution.
