To know is to understand. Perhaps that is why the halos that sit atop the heads of lesser angels are blinding. To know is to understand, and to understand is to become aware. Aware of things that some would prefer you not to know. A sickening truth that runs deep through the core of the very foundation of everything.
Watching Him Fall, she realized there was so little she saw. So little she understood. So she tried. She tried so desperately try and see. To understand. And in the end, it was her Downfall.
It was, of course, assisted by those who did not see. Thouse who did not want to see, those who did not care to understand. There was not for her to do, as how was she to know that she would be so easily betrayed. How easily the fingers will point, how easily the blame will be placed. The lies, the deceit. In that moment she was struck, as if by force, with a minuscule understanding.
In a place of bright, brilliant white you can see the results of such understanding.
It no longer matters whether or not the Gates of Heaven are opened or closed. There is no desire for further understanding. To know more, to see more, is to become completely changed from who she once was.
Truth already burns the flesh. No more, no more.
