Name: Sarah McKane.
Age: 46
Occupation: Director of Mobile Mining Facility.
Planet Of Residence: None. Currently Quartered on the McKane Mobile Mining Facility.
Biographical Data - Sarah McKane grew up in space, and at the age of 22 graduated college with a degree in engineering and starship design. While there, she met a young male wolf named Arthur, who claimed he was working in business. She fell in love with him and married him, giving birth to two children named Davis and Lucy. When her children were in their mid teens, they were pursued by the White Star Corporation and as far as Sarah McKane knew, her husband died there.
While he kept his real occupation secret from her, Arthur survived his alleged 'death' and ensured his children's escape. Some years later, Sarah designed and built a mobile mining facility, capable of mining valuable materials from asteroids and other bodies and then moving on to the next system, rather than needing to constantly build new facilities.
The owner and director of the facility, she was well known for getting her paws dirty when she worked, hitting her quotas and deadlines on time. From time to time she would seek the help of her children when force was required, who were more than happy to rush to their mother's aid. At attentive and loving mother, Sarah is not a wolfess to be trifled with, as she is more than ready to roll up her sleeves and punch anyone who tries to cheat her across the jaw.
Production Data - Sarah McKane first appears during season 1 in "Bane", when her mining facility accidentally wakes up an alien race which attacks her people. She recurs throughout the remainder of the series in a regularly returning role.

To be honest, Lauren, I've always admired your sense of character depth, and your ability to make your charcters seem real. The universe that you have created is diverse and wide, not simply focusing on your story elements while leaving the rest of reality in an 'oblivion state'.
Thank you very much! *hugs* I'm always bothered by shows that introduce 'alien race X' and then you never see them again, or the guest neighbor that you only see for one shot jokes, or the character named something Fox with only one dimension.
My primary universe and any secondary ones I create are designed to be fertile storytelling grounds where everyone has their own part in the grand mosaic, much like in the real world. Everyone's got a history and everyone's got a story, and the interaction is what makes stories happen. I like to consider why people do what they do, not just have them do it and not explain why. I've also learned that like a well developed character, you don't learn everything about them the first time you meet them or even the second. You're always getting to know people the more they pop up in your lives. :)
