This is a quite rare variaton of the ordinary bulbasaur that can be found throughout all hot savannah areas or even full blown deserts, as long as there can still be a little water found.
As long as water is availiable they stay near their oasis ect. often on larger groups.
This strain does not possess any vines or leafs, but many sharp barbs and spikes.

They stay buried in the ground during the hot day, so that only the cactus on their back sticks out.
During the night they get out to get some water and food if availiable.
Although they can stay without both for several weeks.
If their watersource dries out, they can trek a long time to the next one.
It is believed that they can smell water over 10ths of miles.

Since they come out of the ground during nightfall and are buried again before the sun rises, the native tribes thought that the ´saur is an extension of the plant, not the other way round.
Translated from their native tounge they are called "walking roots".
