work continues as we find a rare pair in this sort of thing, though one I quite enjoy, Blu and Jewel from the film Rio, and the nowhere near as good movie Rio 2. That said, their designs were lovely, and Jewel in particular always seemed like she'd make a great pred to me. So I got this lovely little thing...yeah no story this time, posting this too late to have the energy to make one.



won this particular small story a few months after I posted this, hope you enjoy it.

Blu found himself chasing a seed. It wasn't that weird when you thought about it, but he really shouldn't have had this much trouble with it, trying to grab the stupid thing. It was glowing, and he was in a dark attic? How the heck was this thing getting away from him. By going somewhere he couldn't fit was the answer, of course, as the seed, something he intended on offering to Jewel as a gift, had found itself wedged between the wall and a chest...one he couldn't move on his own.

"You know what, this is fine, this is perfect even. I go out, and I try to do something sweet for Jewel and the world poops on me. I guess that's what I get for being a bird," he said, flapping his wing arms, and blowing dust all around in the air. This had two effects. The first was to fill Blu's eyes and nostrils with dust, making him blind, and sneeze all at once. The second was that it uncovered a jewel that Jewel(heh) had gotten from her family.

That jewel, many faceted and blue as Blu(Ha!) found itself glittering in the light from a small window that had likewise had its dust blown off by Blu's waving his wings. This soon turned into a beam of light, that swept around the room, and when it hit Blu, the bird found himself not quite falling, his wings flapping, as he looked down, to find the floor pulling away from him...or rather he pulled away from it, shrinking down to a relatively mouse sized form.

Blu was, it should be noted, still focused on the seed, as he looked over at the chest, and realized with a happy smile, that he was small enough to fit behind it, which he shoot towards, thinking of getting that...then getting help to return to normal. Of course, it was never that easy, as the moment he got behind the chest, the seed picked that moment to teeter into a small hole in the floor, but this blue macaw was not to be denied, and shot down after it, flattening his body to grab it.

Two things would result from this, he would emerge into the kitchen, grabbing the seed just before it could hit the ground, before he did a flip in the air, and landed but first on something warm, and soft, his bottom settling on it, as he looked at his prize. The second thing was that Jewel, who'd been making burgers for her and Blu's lunch, lowered the top bun down onto the tiny Blu, before lifting the sandwich up to her beak, and taking a large bite. It would be hours later, before the two were reunited, and a few minutes before Blu was returned to normal, but for now, Jewel enjoyed a bit of flavor with her lunch, that was quite good.
