Around the year 1840, the machines in the ruins suddenly rebooted and harmed humanity.
It was an incident caused by the Merovics, also known as the Spirit of Deutschland, which had been sealed in the basement of a city called Lind.
Ultimately, Roland was able to repel it, but that was only the beginning of a larger incident.
