Kengyo is an aquatic kirin/longma who sits by a river performing music.


Personality:
Kengyo is quiet, very composed but grumpy. He is described being old fashioned and hasn't been keeping up with the times. Despite his hostility, he is kind enough to provide help to lost travelers in exchange to perform at parties and ceremonies.

His stubborn old nature gives him the nickname Kongou.

Having existed during the spring and autumn period, Kengyo is able to recall and perform music during that period, which were said to have been lost to time.

History:
Kengyo's past is unknown and obscured. Judging by his concept of eastern music, he is presumed to have originated from china and migrated to japan. Other than that, there's is nothing about him.


Relationships:
Mavis
As a fellow musician, Kengyo and Mavis perform together at festivals. Despite their opposite music styles; Mavis specializing in all forms of music and instruments, old and modern; Kengyo specializing in extinct music and only playing a harp, the two are in good terms despite their differences.

Kurokawa Shinmaru
Kurokawa often sails by Kengyo's river to chat with him. She states she swings by just so the spirits she harbors can be swayed by his music.
