Mwalimu is correct. This is targeted primarily at motorcycle riders, especially the endurance riders and other such fools. It's also used by folks in wheelchairs, among others.
The Iron Butt Association sponsors awards for distance riding. The three entry-level rides in order of difficulty: the Saddle Sore 1000 (SS1000) for riding 1000 miles in 24 hours, the Butt Burner is 1500 miles in 36 hours, and the Butt Burner Gold is 1500 miles in 24 hours. There are quite a few more, up to the granddaddy of them all, the Ultimate Coast-to-Coast. That ride is, iirc, 30 days or less. The end points are Key West, Florida and Dead Horse, Alaska, which is, basically, Prudhoe Bay.

Well around Easter I think it is, they have the 'Biker Blessing'.
After the cops will close off the main drag as the L O N G procession of bikes head north single file.
Only run across it once. Next time I see the posters I'll have to see if I can get some video.
But the route runs right past the RiteAid drug store where I saw this.
