Seventeenth of 31 daily drawings I did for October, each one being fan art for a different series. This is Mewt from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, one of my favorite games. Mewt serves as the game's antagonist. The characters are warped to a fantasy world by a magical book, and the protagonist tries to find a way out while Mewt wants to stay. The game's major theme is escapism-- Mewt's mother died, his father has fallen on hard times, and he gets bullied in school, and so Mewt wants to stay in the fantasy world, where his mother is alive, his father is the head judge, and he is a prince. I can relate to Mewt, since I also use fantasy as a means to escape the real world. I guess it's also part of what makes the furry fandom, and the internet as a whole, so appealing. Of course, it's not healthy to avoid the real world entirely, and Mewt eventually learns that he also needs to face reality.
