In one of the episodes of Gusty Valley, Cory first met Shirah the otter. They became fast friends, and even though Cory can't see anything, he's still happy to consider Shirah as great friends, but Shirah immediately has a huge crush on Cory, just because how adorable he is and how nice he has been to everyone other than his parents who don't really seem to care about but to simply enjoy themselves.
