3. Matthews

Matthews is a graduate student in music, concentrating in piano, though I always see him with a white electric guitar. I’m not sure if that’s his other concentration.

Since Matthews lives in the furthest end of our community, I rarely hear him playing piano. The only time I’ve heard him perform was during Christmas Eve at the college hall. He and his band played covers of Dave Matthews that night, so we called him Matthews from then on. He doesn’t seem to discourage this.

Though I haven’t spoken to Matthews that much, he seems like an amiable and cheerful guy. Sometimes he plays cute and sassy, which doesn’t fit his burly physique. His catchphrase is “yeah, right.” He likes black sesame, and he says his whole family likes black sesame too. I have a funny mental picture him snacking on black sesame and sticking his whole tongue in a jar full of it.
