7. Boss

Boss runs his own motorcycle repair shop. His real name is Potch, but all I ever call him is Boss.

Though he’s a hands-on mechanic, Boss is rumored to have a college degree in foreign languages. I’ve seen him chatting with Europeans once, which makes me believe this rumor. His Chinese suffers from a bit of an accent though – he sounds like a duck, flat and sharp, like a TV entertainer 九孔. It’s hard not to chuckle inside when you hear this accent.

Boss always wears combat boots and fatigue pants. But since he has perforated lungs, he never served his mandatory army draft. He thought the army get-up looked cool anyway and bought them off e-bay.

Boss has a strange smell about him — not sure if it’s mechanical oil or BO. There’s a hint of Jasmine in that smell.
