I have been building a four color zombie deck and inspired by that, I wanted to make a commander in those colors that actually does something for the tribe.
The idea of him commanding undead hordes reflects in his token synergy, and he also rewards that strategy by drawing card. I liked to give this slight nodge towards the token way of building zombies as in four colors you have a ton of options. But of course you could still build other things with him as well.
