"Crew-Commandant Urloss speaking here. Can you give me a report finally? Anything new that you can report from investiating that space-station? I know you are currently busy checking the hull of your orbital shuttle, but can you give me a quick summary of what you found or not found?" the lizardian said, eagerly awaiting any news from his fellow crew members that just returned back from the examination of this human space-station.
"Well, erm. Just like any other human object we have examined so far, we have no found any kind of human presence yet, Crew-Commandant." the EVA specialist said as he floated through the vacuum of space, tethered to his orbital transport shuttle, while checking the outer hull for any kind of damage from space debris. "As we allready could assess from the distance, it seems to be some kind of orbital laboratory, no ring section or rotating tori for simulated gravity. Energy produciton as suspected is provided by 'solar-light to electricity conversion' , albeit at a comparably low efficiency. And as far as we can tell, at least two of these solar panels have signs of impats, yet they were not repaired, which suggest these damages happened after the humans disappeared.
We tried to look for an access point, and we think we were able to determine the main docking part, as well as an air-lock. Yet we were unable to access either of the two for understandable reasons. I strongly discourage from using any kind of force on that station. As far as we can determine, the station is built in a very fragile manner, even small damages can lead to instant evacutation of its atmosphere and cause serious damage to both its structure and internal parts. I advise to try to gain access to the air-lock if we want to gain acces to the station."
"I understand. I will see if we can find any ressources to achieve this goal. But being the sole starship in this system our choices what we can do are rather limited. Thank you for the summary. Please finish the examination of your shuttle and then dock with the ship, then finish your report in all details in written form. Urloss out."
The lizard the closed the communication channel and turned his seat around, looking at the screen-window in front of him. The living quarters were in the second ring, so no need to be attached to the seat luckily. Since the ring was rotating constantly to keep them on the floor, they actual sight through a real saphire window would cause motion-sickness in anybody, thus the screen showing him a stil imagine of the planet beneath them. He could see a number of lightning storms illuminating the cloud cover, a rarity on his home-world, yet a normal occurence here.
They have been in this system for barely a month, there was stil so much to explore, so much to find out, most importantly though...
Where have all the humans gone?
Yeah, took me years and years to finally get back to one of my story series, I know I took my sweet time for that, and I have not given up on that yet, believe me, none of my story series are dead. I just...need time now to get back into my old grove. So thank you
