I was actually fiddling around with my camera on the trail when I looked up and saw him. This was after a good 20 minutes of standing still to listen to the noises around me. I had no idea he was there. We stared at eachother for a good 10 minutes, and he thumped his hooves and called out trying to scare me off.
Finally I had to move, so I set my camera to record and took the video below, he's reacting to me finally swatting a mosquito (I had forgotten to wear bugspray--won't do that again!):

Thats true, but I often sit in a small crouch so I'm worried about getting snuck up on and them not realizing I'm bigger. I haven't run into one yet but I see a lot of evidence that they're around and use the same trails I do.
