A little doodle that I did of a fen space station, the basic idea is that it is made to be somewhat modular, however these stations do things like repair, resupply, retrofits and other tasks. The station can support around 6 or so cruiser class warships, more for destroyers and less for larger capital ships. It also features places for shuttles and fighters to be stored or dock.

Typically there would be dozens of these types of stations across a planet, to help with defensive operations and to provide a place for ships to dock. They also are unloading platforms where cargo ships would transfer their cargo onto shuttles and sending it down to the planet. Which is one of two ways cargo ships unload their goods, the other option being planet side, which takes more time and often is a bit more expensive (something I need to work out).
