the outcome of an idea of mine: a lion with the fur markings of an Oryx. i made a hybrid out of it. coloured it in watercolour, a little bit gouache and a hint of copic :), and added some glass bottle to it. those who know a certain movie by south african movie maker Jamie Uys might get the joke. :)

i tried to use different hues of ochre. unfortunately they turned out pretty much the same hue, and yellowish, too. :)
i like the char design, too. i am thinking of making it a regular character.

hmm, here's some African names I found on babynames.com Ajani (He who wins the struggle), Abu (nobility), Chimelu (What God has created, bwahahaha.. good joke to connect to with movie.. what god has created??? they must be crazy >.<), Tedros (Gift of god, bwahahaha, just as good). Anyways, more at babynames.com Those are just ones I saw that looked interesting.
