After the last upload, I felt that I needed to do something a little more light-hearted, and I'm very pleased with the result! Here is another one of those sea dragons who has been hunting rather successfully as of late, as evidenced by his ever-expanding waistline! Unfortunately, his success has become his undoing in his latest hunt, causing him to lose his prey in a rather embarrassing way!

Rei grinned with wicked glee as he darted through the shipwreck, eager to capture the plump, juicy seal who was nimbly darting through the coral-covered wreckage. This seal was merely one of many seals that Rei had gobbled up in the recent good times - a fact which was clearly evidenced by his prodigious sea of flabby rolls. The seadrake did not mind this one bit - in some ways, he took pride in his form! Not that he'd admit that to anyone...

As the seal darted through one last window, the drake finally found a downside to his luscious flab - just as he was about to grab ahold of the slippery seal, he stopped dead in his tracks, the momentum of the sudden halt jiggling every last ounce of flab on his fattened form. Rei looked back at his body in shock, fearful that some sort of leviathan had finally wrapped its jaws around him - only to find that there was no beast to be found. Instead, it was his own monstrous belly to blame! The seadrake's face reddened as he felt the incredible tightness coming from the vice grip of that accursed rusted window - struggle as he may, all his efforts did was send cascades of bubbles too and fro.

The seal turned its head back, deeply confused - he thought he was a goner for sure! As it looked back, it no longer saw a fearsome predator looking to devour it - instead, it simply saw a soft, chubby fish-creature struggling to free itself from its prison! The seal was about to leave, counting its blessings, but it looked back at the would-be-predator - some part of it actually enjoyed being chased by the seadrake! And he looked so harmless now...

Rei struggled and huffed and puffed, but, it was to no avail. He sighed deeply, before looking to his side - and feeling one thousand times more foolish than before! Staring back at him were the glittering depths of the open ocean! The shipwreck he was in had been torn in half - he got stuck in this window for no reason! He whimpered slightly as he looked around, partly thankful that there was no one around to see this. Well, except for the seal that is - speaking of which, where did that creature dart off to?

Suddenly, Rei's face went pale as he felt something tug on his tail - he was doomed, he simply knew it! Some shark must've come along and decided to have a big, fat seadrake for supper - and that would be the end of poor Rei! The fishman winced as he prepared for the ripping and tearing to come... but it never came. Bewildered, he tried looking around, as he felt the tugging grow slightly stronger - something was trying to pull him out! He didn't know what it was, but it had to be better than being beached in a window. Rei tried to suck in his belly as much as he could, and began using his back legs to push himself out the way he came, and after a few minutes of struggling, he was finally free! He gulped, as he prepared to find his savior, or what'd be having him for supper...

Rei's eyes widened in shock as he looked towards his small, grey-blue spotted savior... it was the seal he had been hunting! The creature hovered in the water awkwardly for a few moments before hestitantly coming forward and nuzzling his soft, scaly body. Needless to say, this was an unexpected twist for Rei... why on earth would something he was trying to eat help him? He watched the creature in awe as it snuggled closer to him, and it dawned on him what it was - a lost pup, and a very big one at that! For one reason or another, it bonded with him! Oh... he couldn't eat this poor thing now... He placed his hand on the creature's head, petting it gently. It was actually quite comforting. He'd been alone for so, so very long, and this little guy made him feel... well, not so lonely anymore. The seadrake smiled warmly as he stroked its head, saying, "You know, I think we're going to be good friends, little guy..."
