thats me taking the queen cage out of the rest of the bees. you have to put the queen cage in the hive because the pheromones that she gives off will attract the rest of the bees and keep them in the hive. there is a sugar plug that the bees will eat throught in the next couple of days to release the queen. this is so they stay and establish a presence so they dont all fly off after you install them.

p.s. i kinda forgot to remove the cork from the sugar and had to reopen this hive about 40 minutes later to remedy that. probably the scarriest experience ive had with bees soo far
