So, this is an idea I've been sitting on for a long time. I'd say I had the idea of a witch themed Sailor Moon villain about four, maybe five years ago, but I never got around to deciding what to do with it. This seemed like a good time to dust the idea off and bring it out.
I have dubbed this villain Majori (it's like how the Japanese would pronounce Margery, but it's also got Majo in it, which is Japanese for "witch"). She has some minor powers common to all Negaverse monsters; teleportation, heightened reflexes, enhanced strength and durability, the usual. However, she also has a powerful magic wand that lets her alter matter, allowing her to transform people and objects in anyway she likes.
I had an idea for a story that would be like an episode of the show, where Majori takes over a zoo and would steal energy from visitors. Luna finds out, but gets turned into a bat. Following Luna back to the zoo, the sailor scouts would end up changed into animals, but in their animal forms, they'd work together to get Majori's wand away from her and break it, which undoes all of her transformations. Without her wand, Majori was vulnerable and Sailor Moon would be able to destroy her. Typical Sailor Moon plot, but with a tf-focused twist that suits my personal tastes. That's what fanfiction is for, right?
That and gay/lesbian crack shipping.
Anyway, Oldi provided me with the sketch for this. I didn't have a reference for Majori, just an idea that I wanted her to be witch themed, but have that design style that all sailor moon monsters have, where they're weirdly sexualized and fan-servicey. I used Veran from Oracle of Ages as one reference for kind of how I wanted her to look with suggestions for changes. He stuck a bit closer to Veran's design than I would have preferred, but I think it's different enough to not be a rip-off. If not, meh. Nobody's gonna call me out on it.
I originally was going to have her be turned into a newt, but then I realized that a salamander would leave the door open for a pun. And at least she's not a rabbit, which absolutely everyone who does Sailor Moon tf does with her.
The original sketch featured bat-Luna as more furry and textured, which looked good, but I decided to smooth and round everything out because if there's one thing that defines Luna's design, it's smooth and round.
The sketch provided was super large and I had to make a much smaller version to post on FA because of size limits. If you want to see it full-sized, you can download it on my DA page: https://www.deviantart.com/tffan01/.....nder-859225433

Well I will admit it certainly feels like it could be an episode. I mean the show was weird from the start so.....
Anyway I love the idea. I'm not the well versed with Sailor Moon but get the gist of it. I like the addition of Luna as well. It's like a nice little bonus.

Sailor Moon had a pretty straightforward formula for episodes. Boss bad guy sends monster to collect energy (or something like that), introduce B-plot that ties into main plot to get the Sailor Scouts involved, monster provides a little trouble for the sailor scouts, they find its weakness and destroy it, boss bad guy berates minions for failure, repeat next week. It worked, I guess.
The manga was less weird because it was more focused and wasn't so much of a monster of the week affair. There were monsters, but they were more assistants to a main bad guy for specific missions rather than the focus of the chapter. And I remember them being more toned down in design, though it has been so long I don't recall specifics very well. Also, the manga let the characters be way more badass. Like, the first main bad guy was Jadite. In the anime, he fails too many times, so Queen Beryl imprisons him in a giant crystal. In the manga, his defeat happens when they find Sailor Mars and she MELTS HIS FACE OFF WITH A FIREBALL. Shit got real, man.
