I like to think i'm an open person. I ahve respect for all religions, although I am not really a conventional religous person myself.
Even if some of it seems, outlandish, weird, or just...I don't...down right fucking insane, I don't [or at least try not to] disrespect it.
Ok Fanatics...no..the kind that kill in the name of their god. No. I do not approve. Those that use the Lord's name for their own gains..no. and so on. I believe in love, respect and equality. Among other things.
So this is my contribution to this..."disrespect yet another religion day" Of course this is also my own opinion.
So I'll just sit back and eat some popcorn.
Enjoy.

And that is exactly why i love doing abstract. ^_^ you're right, there is no wrong answer here. I envision one thing as I make this. With my own meaning, but by my posting it here, I'm inviting others to do the same.
And even if it doesn't match what I see, I still enjoy seeing what others see. :)

I do not think that Trey Parker and Matt Stone (the supposed inspiration for Draw Muhammad Day) deserved the threats they got from the radical Muslims for depicting their God. Why? They've made fun of other religions so they weren't picking on Islam at all and singling it out.
I have respect for most religions (except Scientology, but I don't consider it a religion anyway) because if people want to believe in a higher power and an afterlife, they aren't such bad things to think about. I'm very Agnostic in my beliefs, but I will never make fun of somebody for their belief. I will not like it if they use their God's or Gods' name in the pursuit of morally wrong choices. What tends to happen is that unfortunately, the rest of the sound-minded members of X religion get branded as whackjobs.
So tl;dr I agree with you Kat :3<3

You're right, they didn't deserve the threats, and I dont' understand why that particular episode was pulled. I Don't understand the mindframe at all of this whole thing.
What i Do understand however is that this is a fine example of bending at the will of others but for the wrong reasons. Meaning, they didn't pull it out of respect. They didn't pull it because it was wrong. They pulled it out of FEAR.
Now, I'm not saying we should Spite them and draw what We think that their prophet looks like, I'm saying that a lot of people have their beliefs, and that should be respected. Just like those that do Not have beliefs of the religious sort should be as well.
This country was Supposedly founded on such freedom. Freedom that shouldn't be Abused. [ok this country was also founded on the blood of others. But that is a whole other subject]
I wonder what has happened to those ideals.

Haha, I thought this was a South Park spoof, like, "Mohamad visage is far to holy to show or I'll jihad you."
I think have spirituality and faith in something better than yourself is good on a conceptual level, but I think organized religion has the potential to lead down some bad and ignorant paths.
Trust me, I have some compex views on this as usual, but I think you are right, it's not quite right for people to disrespect religion when they get just as huffity about it (if not more so) when religion disrespects them.

It's a two way street, and it always amazes me to no end the double standard that people and religion seems to have.
Some have heard me say that i'm not religious in a conventional sense, and i'm not. What I do believe in, sounds rather idealistic actually.
Aside from druid-ism...for lack of a better word. The one thing I do believe in...is the concept of Love. I don't mean being In love But Love as a whole. It...might sound kinda flaky, but there is a bit of a method behind my madness ^_^
In the end, the thing that irks me the Most about some people and..what they do in their religion is the heavy doses of hypocrisy.

YAY! i win the internets! hehehe
you're right though, and that is part of why i do respect others religions, even if it's something I do not agree or believe in. I think it is very important for people to have faith, to have something higher than themselves to believe in. I think it's a very helpful thing. and, well...I just wish there was more respect for religion. from Everyone. This double standard crap has got to go.
