On PC, I know two versions of minecraft so I will give options for both.
Java version (original): You can download the 'resource pack' with textures so the game may look better, you can change them in the settings. Additionally, you can play in a small window, thanks to which the texture of objects blends better (but it may work with other games, like you play on low resolution).
Pocket edition (Microsoft-Xbox): Here you can only buy this resource pack from the in-game market.
