This little beauty had to have it's own name. As soon as I saw the branch lying at the base of it's tree, (Bradford Pear again) I was reminded of a rose stem, what with all the little twigs broken off into points like thorns. From there, I started thinking about the wealth of rose lore that comes down to us from fairy tales, a lot of it actually quite dark. Thus, with thoughts of dark, mysterious woods, shadowy Fae Folk, and forbidding roses tumbling through my mind, I took the branch home and turned it into one of my favorite wands, "The Goblin Rose". It's tip is an amethyst point, the stone at the other end is a piece of polished fluorite.
