Third in a series of twelve depicting my dragon characters from a pending roleplay website called "The Beyond".

I've drawn this series before. But I've had a desire lately to draw them again. I'm more likely to finish this because I don't have to worry about coloring them. This is what I call the "old parchment" treatment. An excellent visual effect in a fraction of the time.

This is Lythion "the Strong", the largest male of the Twelve, and second in size only to Flamewing. He makes his home near the Meeting Stones, the sacred circle of boulders in the middle of the Barrier Wastelands where the Twelve meet in council. On most nights, Lythion can be found resting upon his boulder and studying the stars. Not long after settling in the Beyond, Lythion performed a favor for the Great Lady, returning--much to the shock of his kin--with grevious injuries that included the loss of his left wing and most of his tail. Nobody save Lythion and the Lady knows what happened to him, and he does not care to speak of it.

The Meeting Stones exist in a place that is barren of most forms of life. Therefore, Lythion is sometimes very hard-pressed to find enough food to sustain him, due to his inability to fly. Some believe that he is aided by the Lady herself from time to time, most likely in thanks for whatever deed he performed for Her. He has been known to travel to the distant mountains, where Tynuath and Philint live, and dwell with them for a time. The bonds between the Twelve are strong, and his kin are always willing and eager to assist him in his hunting when they visit the Meeting Stones.
