I figure I post it up here ^^;

I was asked to draw a koa awhile back, so this is what I came up with. I diffidently learned a few things with this drawing. Like lighting and shadow and that some of the effects (GIMP) don't work like I would like them to. I was going to have a leaf floating and causing ripples, but when ever I tried to make the ripples I would just get a mess.

I like how the scales came out though. I thought they wouldn't look good since I didn't actually draw scales. I just used a texture brush to color with. The sand on the bottom could use some work, but I think it came out well enough. Next time I think I will try to make it look ripply and have a few ridges to give motion to the drawing or at least look like it's under water.

The Lilly pads didn't come out the way I was hoping though. Hopefully next time I'll get them to look more real.
