These are my OCs, Jonathan Bluth (left) and Anthony Bluth (right), the grandsons of Chanticleer Bluth and the great-grandsons of animator Don Bluth. This is a depiction of them when their story takes place in 1988, when they are both 22 years old. Like the previous two generations of men in the Bluth family, they are both tall and muscular, standing at 6'1" without their respective hairdos.
Jonathan has a sharp wit and is a smooth talker, which made him popular in school. Believing that farm life would be a waste of his time and intellect, he made plans to go to college and start a real career. He studied hard and got really good grades in high school, allowing him to go to Vanderbilt in downtown Nashville. While Jonathan wanted to leave the farm, he initially didn't want to completely isolate himself from his family, as the farm was only half an hour away from campus.
Graduating with an economics degree, Jonathan got a job right out of school as a junior partner in a trading firm in Toon York, working on negotiating multi-million dollar mergers and acquisitions. Not only does the job allow him to use his talents, but his family name gives him serious clout. Jonathan is the one who raises the sun most mornings with his crowing, alternating between him and their father, William. However, this is Jonathan's only real usage of his singing voice, barring singing in the shower. Midtown Manhattoon may be a far cry from the family farm, but it suits him just fine with the career he's starting.
Unlike Jonathan, Anthony didn't inherit the family "gift" of being able to raise the sun every morning through his crowing. This left him jealous of his slightly older brother, and all throughout high school, his family was a bit disappointed in him, expecting more. It didn't help that Jonathan kept referring to Anthony as his "baby brother", even though they hatched five minutes apart. However, Anthony still had an amazing singing voice, and he wasn't going to let it go to waste. It would be through music that he sought to regain his family's favor. He didn't get the best grades in school, but he was an avid theater kid, landing major roles in school musicals. Anthony also formed a rock band with his friends and became the lead singer, and lined up some local gigs during his last two years of high school.
Anthony had no real aspirations of going to college due to his average grades. While Jonathan went off to Vanderbilt, Anthony took his band on the road. His band sold over 500,000 copies of their first album, and is now a hot act in the hair metal world. They even managed to open for big acts like The Scorpions. In addition, Anthony took up a stage name, Ben Prescott, the spiritual "grandson" of his grandfather Chanticleer's alter ego, Aaron Elvis Prescott.
Anthony is a musical prodigy, having learned to play guitar, bass, drums, and the synthesizer. In addition to being the frontman, he is the primary songwriter for the group, though he gets input from his friends. He not only gets his style from bands like Van Halen and Def Leppard, but also from Duran Duran and Prince.
