In between several overlooks along the Blue Ridge Parkway, these huge wide open areas sit. It's sometimes difficult to get into them and see the sights. I got lucky the day I was up there, many of the annual leafers showed up a bit early and therefore left early giving far more area open to see the leaves. The haze and minimal clouds allowed for some corpuscular rays over the valley. I'm pretty sure Double Top is on the left of this image.
