Well the sky is the background and the moon is a layer on it. The color are experimented out at the end of 2005 so it more than a year old now. At that time I learnt how to make planets and space backgrounds from tutorials. It works ever since. What you can see is built up form gradinets. Burn and dooge tools some blending options.
