I can't speak for everyone, but whenever my "prey" has sharp edges, I usually find binding a sock or an old T-shirt over it with a rubber band generally suffices.
Of course, my "prey" usually go in willingly and come out the same way and condition that they went in (so much so that it doesn't even feel right calling them prey, hence the quotations), so depending on Nyaroma's intent for the dragon, his mileage may vary.
