Early in the games story development, it took place in the North Pacific; north of Anchorage, Alaska. The character you see here is named Belora.

Belora is a beluga whale. He lived in a sea pen. Belora had diabetes and relied on humans for survival. He had been dealt an injury with a rather large creature (saying what it is would be a spoiler, because they're still in the game.) It was this injury that caused his disability. Despite this, he lived to become an old beluga.
