...where I was questioning my sexuality. Over the past year or two I've been wondering on and off if I'm demiromantic or straight up aromantic. I have a really hard time making friendships and am generally pretty picky and slow to really attach to them.

So if I can't attach as friends why would I ever attach to someone romantically where you have to open up to and rely on another person even MORE than friendship? It sounds intimidating, and taxing, and it's definitely something I don't find myself interested in whatsoever at the time being. I like my independence and don't want to spend my time and energy on a relationship...friendships are tough to maintain as is.

But something possibly even more confusing is that one day I would love to have kids and maybe settle down?? Whenever I picture this, though, I don't see myself with someone. But raising kids on your own takes a lot (judging from my widowed mothers own struggling). So there's a lot of gray area there.

I don't know if I identify as demi, aro, or what...I don't want to cancel out being interested in that special someone who may or may not come into my life further down the road. So for now, I'll represent myself with the asexual flag and the pansexual flag - I'm attracted to all genders, regardless of wanting an actual relationship.

Rant/explanation aside. I think I'm putting too much thought into this identity thing, and the point is it shouldn't be something you stress over! Just be yourself and be PROUD of yourself <3 <3 <3
