Here is something that is a bit special. My entry for
poetigress's Thursday Prompt of Thursday, May 13th, 2010. The word was "in training", which was something that... well, I couldn't think of anything for Mara and Celeste on that one, and nothing really came to mind for Minty Mouse either. I did however get a very nice little idea that would feature my fursona's adopted daughter Madeline, and I added onto it by making this short story also a bit of a tribute to the master genius of puppetry, who on this day, May 16th, in 1990, passed away.
His legacy will live on forever... there is no one who has not been touched by the amazing beauty and the fun that Jim Henson has spread all over the world
So this is both for the master, and for the Thursday Prompt. You have more than deserved your chair in Heaven, mister Henson... although I'm sure you will mostly be kneeling behind it to entertain the other angels with your amazing puppetry performances
A big list this time:
Zinzoline Venus Velvetpelt is not just © me, she is me
Snowy Silverpaw is © me
Saurify Tivoli is © me
Shelly Goldstein is © me
Haley Comet is © me
Belinda Petterson is © me
Ginger Marigold is © me
Madeline (Maddie) Velvetpelt is created by and ©
sierrakinski
The song "Believe in you" is ©... I'm not really sure, actually. I believe it was first used in a Snoopy movie, so I guess that would make it © to Charles M. Schultz

Thank you, dear! Hee hee, yes, I believe I know of someone with that name...
*giggles softly*
Hee hee, that was a little bit of a mix-up because of the capitalization... Shelly actually is a Somali (it's a breed of cat), but her name is simply Shelly Goldstein. Although... with her upbeat personality, she is usually called Sunny Shelly by the others (and quite often, because she's a funny weirdo, she gets called Silly Shelly by the others )
*smiles*
Yes, I really, really love that song, and it is one of the success songs from the Muppet Show (even though it first was used in a Snoopy movie), so with my band at practice, I just couldn't help myself and put that in, both for the message it brings across, as to make this a little bit of a tribute to the great Jim Henson

Charming. They claimed I am able to swim... but I disagree... staying on the surface is not same as swimming. It takes me ages to swim anywhere... plus, I have a bad habit to drink a lot while swimming. Sea water makes you vomit, you know?
I'm rambling... enjoyed reading this, though. Very nice little piece, warm and... nice. Yeah, that's the best word I can think right now. So yeah... Good work. Keep it up.

Yeh, I know what you mean... but I suppose everything that doesn't involve sinking and drowning can be considered 'knowing how to swim'... by the way, chlorine-filled pool water also isn't one of the very best things to drink, I learned
*smiles*
And thank you, dear, I am glad to know you liked this short little story

Hee hee, thank you, dear! I'm glad to know this story made you giggle! Yes, Maddie is a bit of a cute smart-alec sometimes (hey, a teenage girl, can you blame her? )
*smiles*
And yes, like I mentioned, I believe the song was first used in a Snoopy/Charlie Brown cartoon, but it was picked up by the Muppet Show after that and they really made it well-known! A group of the puppeteers did a medley of songs at Jim Henson's memorial service ten years ago, and they ended with "Believe in you". There's videos of that on YouTube, and the way they performed it... gah, I could listen to it a thousand times in a row, and still get goosebumps each and every time Such a lovely song...
