Oh, and are you aware of the origins of Lt. Mzzkiti of Freighter Tails (formerly Haul Trek)?
Actually look no further than the cat aliens in the new Doctor Who, 2nd or 3rd season of it. One with "Rose" and one with "Martha". The cat nun. The face was very cougar like. As for a tail, look at Trance Gemini in "Andromdea" They did CGI for her tail.

That might be the case. A guy with THAT kind of power could easily acquire such promiscuous advantages... plus he was reaching up there in his years with poor health ( He smoked constantly). His wife Majel didn't seem to mind through all this due to inheritance factors... which comes to mind now... WHO (other than Paramount) can claim ownership or at least "holding the reigns" of the franchise now?
