Started off drawing from stock in which the model was holding a gun, but after I had drawn the right hand, I couldn't get the gun to look right. Thus, the knife. From the beginning of finding the stock to sketching this out, I knew Sakai had to be the subject. I'm sure this would be something he'd do before he was sent to the island.

Tried something new in adding the fire. I like how it came out. Had to do some layering things with half his hand and thumb, but I think it turned out alright.

Also, I'd love to hear any suggestions for a better background. I like the mosaic tile effect I used, but I'm all for trying something else.
