Unstable Table! / Beach Bollocks!
I went to the IJmuiden bayside, the Netherlands, together with my dad. We discovered an abandoned rowing clinic with a closed bar area, a completely deserted camping site in the back, and there was even a huge watchtower consisting of sloping thick poles of wood. There were a few canoes and a forgotten campfire spot, and the full outside deck of the bar was accessible! The clouds floating over our heads blocking most of the sunlight only made this place darker and more eerie. But I don't mind. I actually like creepy, abandoned places. For example, I've been to countries like Greece, where there were a lot of temple ruins. And later, during our last holiday in France, we visited Oradour sur Glane, a French town that was massacred during WWII. Now, this particular beach site you see right here has nothing to do with all of that, but it still has an incredibly similar vibe to it. My theory is that this place was abandoned by the campers and bar owners not far ago due to Covid-19, but something tells me that this forgotten rowing paradise has been left behind for a much longer period of time.
