She often wears a bra as well, but its more for social reasons, rather than support or modesty.

Born on the distant planet Cendor to Jistan and Salani T'Pek, Kyarra was only a year old when the Kkekarians invaded her planet during the Occupation of Cendor. During the invasion she was separated from her parents, but somehow made it onto a refugee shuttle for the Gythoran planet, Alvagano Prime.

While the Gythorans welcomed their neighbors onto their planet, their strong dislike of outsiders made it difficult to live among them. It was thanks only to the benevolence of Cerax Jave, a civic leader who found and adopted Kyarra into his family, that Kyarra was able to survive infancy. Thanks to the necklace she wore which bears her identity, she was able to retain her name, though its pronunciation changed from the Cendoran two-syllable Kyar-ra to the Gythoran three-syllable Ki-ar-ra. It was through Cerax's persistence and frequent bribery that Kyarra (now under the name Kyarra Jave) was able to enter into Gythoran schools.

For Kyarra, school among the nine-foot tall Gythorans was a tough experience, met with frequent xenophobia and prejudicial remarks, as well a bullying. Even the teachers were biased against her and, were it not for Cerax's bribes and social coercion, would probably not have allowed her to learn from them. With the additional help of Cerax's popular daughter, Vixen, and Vixen's boyfriend Corex Zayer, in fighting off the bullying, Kyarra was able to persevere. Eventually she even became intimate with a boy called Xenex. While she and Xenex would never consider themselves to be in love, they developed a relationship of trust and relative closeness.

With the final year of a Gythoran's education being an apprenticeship with a company of their choosing, Kyarra was provided with a shuttle and sent away from Alvagano Prime. More than eager to leave, and armed with a superior Gythoran education, Kyarra (once again Kyarra T'Pek) made her way to the nearest star system, the Dark Sun system. It was there she first met Arrow Baikonur, who led her to Space Fix, and interplanetary peacekeeping organization. With her Gythoran trained technical prowess, she excelled at maintaining their spaceships and eventually began designing and building her own.

In one incident, one of her team's super advanced prototypes was stolen, and the mission to destroy it resulted in her team being stranded on the Celestial Plain over the Dark Sun for a full year. Upon her return, Kyarra retired from Space Fix, and once again met Arrow Baikonur, this time allowing herself to fall in love with him. Together they founded a small company of her own called Kyarra Intelligence--which specializes in development of advanced technologies--and ultimately co-developed Tangent, an artificial intelligence robot.

Kyarra's been with Arrow now for over ten years, though the two maintain their status as boyfriend and girlfriend. She's now 26 years old, close friend of Magdalena Zamboyen, Blufaya, Sundog, and Tangent. She has also reunited with her bio-father, Jistan.

She's generally an optimistic girl; every time her life got hard, she had been able to find someone willing defend her. She always believes that someone will be there if she needs help, and she tries to be that person for other people. She absolutely hates people misusing her inventions. She was a bit of a firebrand in her Space Fix years, and though she's mellowed out, she can still get fiery at times.
She definitely tries not to think too much about her childhood, though she generally doesn't resent any of her hardships. She still visits her Gythoran family from time to time and is still close to her sister, Vixen.
