An autovia ran right past the resort in Spain, in which my dad owned a timeshare. A bridge went straight from the entrance of the resort across the highway to the shops across the way, and at a young age it was quite a sensation to see all the cars zooming past under my little paws. Maybe that was part of what formed my dreams of becoming a pilot; being able to see the world from above, and see beauty in things that would otherwise be dangerous.
This is not an autovia, however, or at least that's not what it is called. This is the M4 motorway, which might qualify as a country road in some US states, but is certainly the largest and busiest road in Wales, and is the main link between Wales and the South West, and the British capital. The bridge on which we're standing runs right over the motorway from one alleyway to another, and leads to a motorway service stop next to the small village of Sarn. This is where most locals do their shopping, as not only is there a large grocery store here, but also a large designer outlet with a food court and a theatre. A great stop for early Christmas shopping! ^__^
Hope you enjoy!

Autovia normally is a converted national road, for example the A-2 is from old parts of the N-II, and an autopista is a brand new road where also some kinds of vehicles are forbidden to use them.
I think the motorway is the autopista and the "dual carriageway" is the autovía...

I find flying to be a humbling experience; no matter how highly one might think of oneself, from the air everyone looks the same, and when the flight ends you rejoin them, and will look the same to anyone else who might be flying overhead. I can very much recommend a flight, if you get the chance, be it in a tiny Cessna or a massive Airbus. :)
Thank you kindly for saying so! I hugely appreciate the positive words. ^__^

It always takes me a minute to get used to traffic coming toward me on the right.
Connecticut Route 2 looks about like this, although it's usually more congested. When I moved to Southeastern Connecticut 40 years or so ago, the highway was hardly used, although it was the best and fasted route from New London to Hartford (through Colchester). Now it's as much as your life is worth to drive it at rush hour.
