It must've been a year ago when I drew this. I had gotten a hyena avatar from Luskwood in Second Life, and modified it into a dragon hybrid like my raccoon self: http://www.koinup.com/Erika_and_Dra.....e/work/118398/
I liked it so much, I considered changing my fursona to a dryena. So I drew this and planned to upload it here. But I only got partway through coloring before I gave up, and it turns out I decided against changing my fursona to a dryena, anyway.
Can't say I'm entirely proud of this. I kinda like how my wings are draped on the ground, but that's pretty much it. Still, at least I actually DID the lineart. I think coloring really is my achilles' heel. I can make my lineart look decent enough (usually), but coloring takes way too long and I have so much trouble making it look nice. Makes me wonder if I should try drawing again, but skip the coloring from now on. (The red hair would transition to a purple mane, by the way.)
Anyway, when I did this, I came up with a story for it:
"Something strange happened today. I was strolling through the woods today, and at first I wasn't sure if it was the shadows of the trees, but my muzzle seemed darker than normal. Started feeling funny, too. All of a sudden, before my eyes, my normally pointed muzzle started narrowing out, yet getting broader. I freaked and put my hands to it, and that's when I saw that my hands were getting darker, too. Knowing what this meant, I looked over the rest of my body and saw that the rest of my fur was changing, but most of it was getting lighter instead. I turned and looked at my tail, and crud, it was getting shorter. That wasn't all that was getting shorter, though. As I looked at my arms, I noticed my fur getting shorter, and pink spots had started appearing on them. And all of a sudden, without warning, I lost my balance, falling back. My wings draped on the ground beneath me, I looked to see what happened, and saw that my legs had shortened, only to leave me with longer feet. I was now a digitigrade walker!
I crawled over to a tree and used it to help myself stand up. I couldn't straighten my legs enough to stand flat on my feet, so I furthur stood on my toes. Uneasily, I might add. I looked myself over. All these spots, the muzzle, the dark-tipped tail... I'm a hyena. I looked at my wings, and crossed my eyes to see my horn still there. Okay, so a hyena-dragon. I looked down at my feet, experimentally lifted a foot and flexed my toes. Then, I took my first step in my new stance. I let go of the tree and took a few more steps, spreading my arms out to help myself keep balance. This is going to take some getting used to..."
